Water Still Dropping...

The water level is still dropping. I went to check it when I got home from work, and had problems. I guess it was offline, as indicated by the break in the chart. Looking good though...

Mifflinville Smallies on Labor Day

Monday Jon Adams and I launched from Mifflinville and snooped around a little while for some smallmouths. We decided to go slightly up from Bloomsburg, since the airport launch had about eight trailers in the parking lot, and there were at least three boats in view of the launch at Columbia Park.

The water was still quite stained, but the level has dropped quite a bit. For our efforts we only landed one fish a piece, but they were very healthy. I also lost one a bit larger at the boat.

River Level Still Going Down...

The water level is still creeping down. John and I are heading out in the AM. Reports will be forthcoming.

Not Much Action, Lots More People...

Yesterday Jon Adams and I launched from Bloomsburg and floated to the ripples upstream of Catawissa. Joining us were a number of powerboats, plenty of people fishing from shore, and a couple in rec kayaks just paddling around. For all this effort I landed one smallmouth, and didn't see anyone else land anything. It was a beautiful day to be on the water, but little fishing action. The power boats were also stirring up the water considerably.

The one which I landed was hanging around submerged rocks in the middle of the river. We found nothing around obvious structure. The fluctuating water levels have made patterning the bass very difficult.

Coming Down for the Weekend!

Looking Much Better!
A couple of us are getting ready to hit the water to see what we can come find.
