Koinonia Guide Service, Susquehanna River Report (3/24/12)

Hi Gang,
The river was at 5.2 at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week we had 4.8 with 30,600CF of flow and 58 degrees.
1. Trip #1 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was a Monday evening and we fished from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and we boated 15 Bass. The largest was 16.5” and we caught it on a Stickbait. We caught them all Stickbaits. We had 5.0 – 33,800CF – Clear – Falling and 56 degrees. It was warm with a BP of 30.00 and steady.
2. Trip #2 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Wednesday evening and we fished from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM and we boated 10 Bass and 1 Fallfish. The largest bass was 16” and the Fallfish was 9”. We caught them on soft plastics and stick baits. We had 4.8 – 31,600CF – Clear – Steady and 61 degrees. It was clear with a BP of 30.20 and steady.
3. Trip #3 – Guide Trip – This was on Thursday and was an AM half day trip. We boated 15 Bass, 1 Walleye and 1 Fallfish. The largest bass was 17”, the walleye was 14.75” and the fallfish was 14”. We caught them on soft plastics and Stickbaits. We had 4.8 – 31,600CF – Clear – Steady and 59 – 60 degrees. It was sunny with a BP of 30.10 and falling.
4. Trip #4 – Guide Trip – This was a half day PM Trip on Thursday and we boated 19 Bass and 1 Fallfish. The largest Bass was 17.75” and was 3.8#. The fallfish was 8”. We caught them on soft plastics and Stickbaits. We had 4.8 – 31,600CF – Clear – Steady and 60 degrees. It was sunny with a BP of 30.10 and falling.
5. Trip #5 – Guide Trip – This was on Friday and was a half day AM Trip and we boated 6 Bass. The largest was 15.5” and was caught on a tube. We had 4.8 – 29,600CF – Clear – Steady and 60 degrees. It was foggy, extremely windy and we had a BP of 29.90 and Steady.
6. Trip #6 – No Trip
7. We got rained out on Saturday. We had a friend catch some Flatheads this week. We will keep you posted. The warm weather has the fish ahead of their normal schedules.

The river was at 4.5 at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week we had 5.9 with 59,100CF of flow and 40 degrees. The river is projected to crest at 6.7.
1. Trip #1 – Guide Trip – This was on Monday and was a half day AM Guide Trip. We boated 13 Bass and the largest Smallmouth was 18” and we caught it on a Craw Papi. We caught them all on soft plastics and we caught one on a Stickbait. We had 4.5 – 25,700CF – Clear – Steady and 38 degrees. It was breezy with a BP of 30.20 and steady.
2. Trip #2 – Guide Trip – This was on Tuesday and was a full day trip and we boated 31 Bass. The largest was 18.5”. We caught all but one on soft plastics and the other one was caught on a stickbait. We had 4.8 – 29,800CF – Clear – Steady and 38 degrees. It was breezy and with a BP of 30.35 and falling.
3. Trip #3 – Guide Trip – This was on Tuesday and was a half day AM Trip. We boated 14 Bass and our largest was 19.5”. It weighed 4.2# and was caught on a Craw Papi. We caught all but one on soft plastics and we caught one on a stickbait. We had 4.8 – 29,800CF – Clear – Steady and 38 degrees. It was breezy with a BP of 30.35 and falling.
4. Trip #4 – Guide Trip – This was on Thursday and was a half day AM Trip. We boated 5 Bass and 3 Walleye. The largest Bass was 15” and the largest Walleye was 18”. We caught them all on soft plastics with the exception of one that was caught on a stickbait. We had 4.9 – 32,100CF – Stained – Rising and 39 degrees. It was breezy and we had a BP of 29.40 and rising.
5. Trip #5 – Guide Trip – This was on Friday and was a full day trip. We boated 20 Bass and the largest was 19.125” and weighed 4.3#. The large fish was caught on a YUM Dinger and all the fish were caught on soft plastics. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 5.2 – 38,500CF – Clear – Rising and 39.5 to 40.5 degrees. It was extremely windy and we had a BP of 29.80 and Rising.
6. We will be at Bass Pro Shops Spring Classic today. There will be some great sales going on so please stop by and visit with us.
7. We currently have a good smallmouth bite going so if you can book on short notice, I suggest you book a trip.

The river was at 4.5 at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week we had 4.4 with 22,800CF of flow and 41 degrees.
1. Trip #1 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Monday and we fished from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM and we boated 1 Largemouth, 2 Smallmouth and 1 Musky. The Musky was 28”, the Largemouth was 13” and the largest Smallmouth was 18”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.6 – 24,700CF – Clear – Falling and 37 degrees. It was breezy with a BP of 30.20 and steady.
2. Trip #2 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Wednesday morning and we fished from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM and boated 24 Bass. The largest was 18.5” and we caught them on soft plastics and stick baits. We had 4.5 – 24,700CF – Clear – Steady and 38 – 41 degrees. It was breezy and mild with a BP of 29.55 and falling.
3. Trip #3 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Wednesday evening and we fished from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM and we boated 7 Smallmouth and the largest was 18”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.5 – 24,700CF – Clear – Steady and 40 degrees. It was breezy and mild with a BP of 29.55 and falling.
4. Trip #4 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Thursday and we fished from 10:45 AM to 3:30 PM and we boated 35+ Smallmouth and the largest was 18”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.5 – 24,100CF – Clear – Falling and 41-44 degrees. It was extremely windy and we had a BP of 29.15 and rising.
5. Trip #5 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Friday morning and we fished from 6:15AM to 9:15AM and we boated 22 Smallmouth. The largest was 17.75” and most of the fish were 15”-17”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.4 – 23,000CF – Clear – Steady and 42.8 degrees. It was rainy, extremely windy and we had a BP of 29.25 and falling.
6. We will be set up and conducting seminars at the Bass Pro Shops Spring Classic. The event starts this Friday, February 24th and my first seminar will be Friday at 7:00 PM. There will be a lot of great sales going on so please stop by and visit with us.
7. We currently have a good smallmouth bite going so if you can book on short notice, I suggest you book a trip.
