Koinonia Guide Service, Susquehanna Fishing Report (2/25/12)

Hi Gang,

The river was at 4.5 at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week we had 4.4 with 22,800CF of flow and 41 degrees.

1. Trip #1 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Monday and we fished from 3:30 PM to 5:30 PM and we boated 1 Largemouth, 2 Smallmouth and 1 Musky. The Musky was 28”, the Largemouth was 13” and the largest Smallmouth was 18”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.6 – 24,700CF – Clear – Falling and 37 degrees. It was breezy with a BP of 30.20 and steady.

2. Trip #2 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Wednesday morning and we fished from 7:00 AM to 11:30 AM and boated 24 Bass. The largest was 18.5” and we caught them on soft plastics and stick baits. We had 4.5 – 24,700CF – Clear – Steady and 38 – 41 degrees. It was breezy and mild with a BP of 29.55 and falling.

3. Trip #3 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Wednesday evening and we fished from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM and we boated 7 Smallmouth and the largest was 18”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.5 – 24,700CF – Clear – Steady and 40 degrees. It was breezy and mild with a BP of 29.55 and falling.

4. Trip #4 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Thursday and we fished from 10:45 AM to 3:30 PM and we boated 35+ Smallmouth and the largest was 18”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.5 – 24,100CF – Clear – Falling and 41-44 degrees. It was extremely windy and we had a BP of 29.15 and rising.

5. Trip #5 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Friday morning and we fished from 6:15AM to 9:15AM and we boated 22 Smallmouth. The largest was 17.75” and most of the fish were 15”-17”. We caught them all on soft plastics. We had 4.4 – 23,000CF – Clear – Steady and 42.8 degrees. It was rainy, extremely windy and we had a BP of 29.25 and falling.

6. We will be set up and conducting seminars at the Bass Pro Shops Spring Classic. The event starts this Friday, February 24th and my first seminar will be Friday at 7:00 PM. There will be a lot of great sales going on so please stop by and visit with us.

7. We currently have a good smallmouth bite going so if you can book on short notice, I suggest you book a trip.

Hi Gang,

The river was at 4.9 at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week we had 4.5 with 25,200CF of flow and 38 degrees.

1. Trip #1 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Saturday and we fished from 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM at Lake Marburg. We boated 6 Sunfish and 4 Yellow Perch. The largest Sunfish was 10.5” and the largest Yellow Perch was 8”. We caught them all on a jig/worm combo. We had clear water at 38 degrees with a BP of 29.90 and steady. It was sunny and extremely windy.

6. The Lake Marburg Symposium was attended by over 150 people. Dave gave a seminar on catching white perch in the summer by back trolling. There were other seminars and reports given as well at this Symposium.

7. We will be the official guide for Lake Marburg this summer. This is a great trip for kids and anyone who wants to bring home fish to eat. We can also do family outings n a pontoon boat if you so desire. This lake is in Codorus State Park so you can camp there and fish with us or bring your own boat or you can even rent a boat.

8. We will be set up and conducting seminars at the Bass Pro Shops Spring Classic. The event starts this Friday, February 24th and my first seminar will be Friday at 7:00 PM. There will be a lot of great sales going on so please stop by and visit with us.

Hi Gang,

The river was at 6.0 at the beginning of the week and at the end of the week we had 4.9 with 33,600CF of flow and 38 degrees.

1. Trip #1 – Guide Trip – This was on Tuesday and was a 4 hr. PM trip and we boated 4 Smallmouth. The largest was 20.25” and weighed 4.6#. We caught them all on jigs with soft plastics. We had 5.4 – 44,200CF – Falling – Clear and 41 degrees. It was clear and cool with a BP of 30.10 and falling.

2. Trip #2 – Guide Scouting Trip – This was on Thursday and we fished from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM and boated 7 Smallmouth. The largest was 19.5” and we caught them all on jigs with soft plastics. We had 5.1 – 36,200CF – Falling – Clear and 37 degrees. We had a BP of 30.00 and steady with sunny and cold conditions.

6. We spent the week at the ESOS show doing as many as two seminars a day. On the day’s we did two, we did one on bass and one on catfish.

7. Dave will be conducting seminars on White Perch Fishing at the Friends of Codorus State Park Symposium today. Later in the day we hope to get on the lake and catch some panfish. We hope to see you there.

8. We will be set up and conducting seminars at the Bass Pro Shops Spring Classic. We will send you the schedule and times when we receive it.



This picture is Tanner holding a 20.25” Smallie he caught on Tuesday. The fish fell for the YUM Fork Tailed Dinger which unfortunately is no longer made. We are sure going to miss that bait. This is the second 20+ Inch fish to fall for this bait in the last two weeks.
